Summary

AMG Vanadium (AMG V) is seeking a Maintenance Scheduler to join our growing team at our Zanesville, Ohio facility. In this position, you will be responsible for supporting the goals and objectives of the Maintenance team by utilizing AMG’s computerized maintenance program to develop and monitor the asset maintenance plan. This opportunity will participate in the maintenance strategy along with maintenance planning methodology. This will be accomplished through the maintenance plan which shall support the safe, effective, and productive activities by setting the maintenance schedules and identifying the supporting resources to guide the activity of the maintenance supervision and staff.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Assist in developing the strategy of the asset maintenance program
  • Maintain effective short and long–term maintenance planning and scheduling
  • Monitor for effective preventative, predictive, and breakdown maintenance procedures
  • Assist in managing the annual budget, long range plan, and forecast within the asset management team
  • Serve as a liaison with other personnel within the Production and Maintenance Team, other supporting departments, and the contracted suppliers providing direct maintenance parts and support.
  • Develop, maintain, and update an effective maintenance plan while maximizing the utilization of maintenance resources
  • Modify the plan to compensate for variations due to availability of resources, actual work completed, or additional work required
  • Ensure asset servicing is scheduled in accordance with the accepted intervals and standards, and the servicing is performed in a timely manner while identifying necessary resources such as parts, tooling, equipment, and materials
  • Review information from oil samples analysis, component operating data, mechanics’ reports, operating reports and recommended OEM supplier’s component replacement guidelines, to propose and schedule component replacement
  • Advise and support team leaders with accurate data entry, backlog work orders, and work order management
  • Monitor all equipment and component warranty programs, ensure warranty work is claimed in a timely manner, and all warranty issues are resolved
  • Participate in the preparation of the Plant’s Maintenance budgets and other asset purchases as needed
  • Monitor Maintenance costs, while understanding cost drivers within the department and Identifying variance to budget
  • Assist in developing critical path plans, for major shutdowns in a timely manner
  • Execute strategies for improving maintenance performance and process planning, including participating in training, maintenance, and development of computer-based maintenance management systems
  • Ensure all projects are effectively budgeted and monitored to stay within cost constraints
  • Review maintenance planning methods, techniques, equipment and plans; assist with the coordination of maintenance personnel
  • Monitor actual performance and maintenance activity against targets and the maintenance plan, reporting variances in a timely manner to assist in corrective action to maintain targets

Qualifications/Skills/Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience with fixed maintenance operations, planning, and scheduling. Heavy industry experience preferred.
  • Experience in working with budgets and capital cost expectations
  • Excellent technical knowledge and skills, including a broad understanding of planning, scheduling and maintenance concepts, with an ability to coach and foster talent in others as well as the ability to adapt easily to change.
  • Proficient in relevant CMMS packages (Maintenance Connections, SAP, JDE; comprehensive workflow process understanding
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills (written and verbal)
  • Team player; ability to work effectively across functional lines including suppliers and internal and external customers
  • Excellent attention to detail, time management, organizational, operational, and follow through skills
  • Excellent command of Microsoft Project Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint
