Working procedure: Performs and logs oiling and greasing operations on powered mobile equipment. Repairs or assists in repairing plant mobile equipment from both the mechanical and electrical standpoint, by use of hand and power driven tools. Performs cutting/welding operations in connection with routine repairs of mobile equipment. Completes inspections, maintains a database and files reports on equipment conditions. Operates some shop machines and machine tools on difficult jobs connected with mobile equipment. Utilizes operating personnel to assist whenever possible. Summary

AMG Vanadium (AMG V) is seeking Operations Supervisors to join our growing team. In this role, you will be accountable for leading a production and/or maintenance team, ensuring that all Company safety, environmental, production, quality, maintenance, and cost goals are achieved. In accordance with AMG V’s vision and values, you will be responsible for creating a highly engaged and collaborative team through training, development, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Lead by example and comply with all AMG V safety and environmental requirements, policies, and procedures, including AMG’s Code of Business Conduct

Qualifications/Skills/Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree a plus
  • Strong mechanical and/or electrical aptitude required
  • Experience in fast paced manufacturing environment a must; steel or hot metal experience a strong plus; hands-on experience strongly preferred
  • Previous leadership experience required, with proven track record of successful safety leadership
  • Union experience preferred
  • Must be receptive and adaptive to change
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills a must (verbal, written, and listening skills)
  • Ability to coach, mentor, train and develop team members; team player
  • Solid understanding of lean manufacturing principals and mindset of continuous improvement

Summary

AMG Vanadium LLC (AMG V) is seeking a Maintenance Manager to join our growing team at our expansion plant in Cambridge, Ohio. This position will direct, plan, control and monitor the overall operation of the maintenance department and has accountability for ensuring that the plant facilities, operational/production equipment, and facility infrastructure are maintained and operated in an efficient, safe and reliable manner. The Maintenance Manager establishes department goals, provides direction, guidance, and development opportunities for all maintenance employees, and ensures that production employees are trained on basic preventive maintenance. This position partners with Operations leadership to ensure safe, predictable manufacturing processes and enable reliability in achieving operational excellence.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Lead by example in complying with all internal and external safety and environmental regulations, policies, procedures, and systems; promote a culture of safety, environmental responsibility, and employee engagement
  • Foster a positive, respectful work environment and management philosophy that is aligned with the values and principles outlined in the AMG Code of Business Conduct; set expectation for compliance with the Code and other AMG V policies and procedures
  • Plans, coordinates, and supervises the maintenance and repair of plant facilities, equipment, and facility infrastructure to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the facility
  • Work closely with Plant Safety and Environmental Management to ensure that the highest standards of safety and environmental safe guards are always developed and maintained; ensures grounds, buildings, equipment, machines, processes, service and repairs are following all relevant OSHA and EPA regulations, industry codes and or standards; ensures all required tests, evaluations, and assessments are performed on schedule and immediately addresses any issues or deficiencies discovered in this process
  • Develops, implements, and leads the Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) process to ensure effectiveness in supporting the reliability of plant operations
  • Coordinates required maintenance activities with production departments to ensure maximum equipment uptime and minimize plant disruptions.
  • Work closely with Plant Engineering on capital projects; coordinate and manage needed support from outside contractors and equipment manufacturers
  • Lead, develop and mentor team members; ensure required Company training is current
  • Instill a mindset of continuous improvement and problem solving in your team
  • Utilize Lean principles to optimize processes, systems, people and equipment
  • Champion AMG Way in all aspects of day to day, direct report and cross functional relationships

Qualifications/Skills/Requirements

  • BS degree in Mechanical/Industrial related field of study, with 7-10 years minimum experience in Maintenance Supervisory role
  • Minimum of 10 yrs. experience required in manufacturing environment; melt shop/foundry experience a plus
  • Verifiable history of developing/sustaining a Preventative Maintenance Program; PPMS a plus
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Principles required; demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills (written and verbal)
  • Team player having the ability to generate enthusiasm and foster team spirit with employees
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, logical reasoning, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to adapt easily to change and lead others through it
  • Excellent attention to detail, time management, organization and follow through skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours as required
  • Possess a thorough understanding of relevant industry codes, OSHA and EPA regulations
