Summary

AMG Vanadium (AMG V) is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Technician to join our growing organization at our new Zanesville Plant. AMG Vanadium’s Mechanical Engineering Technician provides advanced industrial maintenance and machine mechanic technical support during plant start-up and commissioning and enables the continuous operation of equipment, machines, and mechanical processes throughout the plant.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Comply with all AMG V safety and environmental requirements, policies, and procedures, including AMG’s Code of Business Conduct
  • Embrace and promote the AMG V culture in all day-to-day activities
  • Provide technical expertise and leadership during plant start-up and commissioning
  • Offer assistance with mechanical design, development, testing, and implementation of plant equipment
  • Prepare and/or review blueprints, drawings, schematics, and detailed equipment specifications
  • Work with Production, Engineering, and Maintenance to ensure continuous operation of plant; test and inspect equipment routinely; complete preventive maintenance checks on production equipment, machines, engines, motors, hydraulic valves/cylinders, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, etc.
  • Troubleshoot and identify faulty machine and equipment through observation and testing metrics
  • Remove, replace defective parts/equipment, and restore operations to achieve maximum uptime and minimize production downtime; comply with all safety, environmental and code requirements when repairing equipment
  • Source replacement parts in accordance with required specification
  • Follow scheduled maintenance work order system and participate in planning of required maintenance mechanical support during scheduled outages
  • Support preventative maintenance training of non-maintenance team members
  • Understand roles and responsibilities in support of production team’s operational goals and metrics
  • Utilize principals of lean manufacturing, including 6S, to support operational and process improvements
  • Perform other duties as may be required
Qualifications/Skills/Requirements
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude required
  • Associate’s degree in related field
  • Minimum of five years experience in mechanical engineering technician role
  • Experience in fast paced heavy manufacturing environment desired; steel or hot metal experience a strong plus; hands-on experience strongly preferred
  • Skilled in reading blueprints, drawings, schematics, and detailed equipment operation specifications
  • Hydraulic experience required
  • Pneumatic experience required
  • Welding knowledge and experience required
  • Basic electrical experience required

Summary

 

AMG Vanadium (AMG V) is seeking a Quality System Manager to join our growing team at our new Zanesville, Ohio facility. In this position, you will be responsible for developing and leading the site quality strategy, processes, policies, procedures, standards, and system, while ensuring integration and alignment with AMG V’s Cambridge facility. You will also be responsible for managing and auditing the Zanesville Plant’s Quality Management System in line with the required industry and ISO standards.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Lead by example and comply with all AMG V safety and environmental requirements, policies, and procedures, including AMG’s Code of Business Conduct

  • Manage and audit the process, workflow, and analytical results of AMG V’s onsite lab

Qualifications/Skills/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in metallurgical engineering preferred; Quality Management and other relevant degrees may be considered
  • 7-10 years experience in steel or metals industry preferred; at a minimum heavy manufacturing experience required
  • Command of and experience working in ISO 9001, 14001, and 18000 required

This position will direct, plan, control and monitor the day-to-day operation of the maintenance department and has accountability for ensuring that the plant facilities, operational/production equipment, and facility infrastructure are maintained and operated in an efficient, safe and reliable manner. The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the leadership of the department’s technicians and provides daily direction, guidance, and development opportunities for all maintenance employees, while ensuring that production employees are trained on basic preventive maintenance. This position partners with Operations leadership to ensure safe, predictable manufacturing processes and enable reliability in achieving operational excellence.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Lead by example in complying with all internal and external safety and environmental regulations, policies, procedures, and systems; promote a culture of safety, environmental responsibility, and employee engagement

Summary

AMG Vanadium (AMG V) is seeking a Maintenance Planner to join our growing team at our new Zanesville, Ohio facility. In this position, you will be engaged in Maintenance strategy development and be responsible for supporting the goals and objectives of the Maintenance team by utilizing AMG V’s computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to develop and monitor the Company’s asset maintenance plan. The Maintenance Planner will be responsible for the safe, effective, and timely planning of predictive and reactive maintenance of the Zanesville Plant assets, while minimizing downtime impact on production. This will be accomplished by planning and coordinating maintenance resources, parts, materials, equipment access, and any external contractors needed to complete the work on time and on budget.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Prepare work orders/packages for all Maintenance activities; assist with the coordination of Maintenance personnel
  • Assist in developing and monitoring effective preventative, predictive, and breakdown maintenance procedures; coordinate Maintenance projects and lead critical path planning for major plant shutdowns to minimize production and equipment downtime and to attain regular asset/maintenance schedules
  • Serve as a liaison with Production, Engineering, Maintenance, other support departments, and contractors/suppliers for spare parts prep/planning and PM asset lists for new equipment; work with responsible parties to ensure spare and component parts are in inventory as required; coordinate regular asset/maintenance reviews with key stakeholders
  • Ensure asset servicing is scheduled in accordance with the accepted intervals and standards and the servicing is performed in a timely manner to minimize production downtime; identify necessary resources, parts, tooling, equipment, and materials
  • Advise and support team leaders with accurate data entry, backlog work orders, work order management and component parts; review and analyze data and prepare reports as required
  • Monitor all equipment and component warranty programs, ensure warranty work is claimed in a timely manner, and all warranty issues are resolved
  • Participate in the preparation of the Plant’s Maintenance budget and other asset purchases as needed; monitor Maintenance costs and cost drivers; identify variances to budget and offer budget variance explanation
  • Monitor actual performance and maintenance activity against targets and the maintenance plan, reporting variances in a timely manner to assist in corrective action to maintain targets
  • Support Lean Manufacturing goals and objectives for Maintenance and Operations
  • Coach and mentor Maintenance employees to improve performance and adherence to departmental goals
  • Serve as back-up Operations Supervisor as needed

Qualifications/Skills/Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience with fixed maintenance operations, planning, and scheduling; heavy industrial experience strongly preferred
  • Maintenance planning and scheduling and/or project management certification a plus
  • Excellent technical knowledge and skills; broad understanding of planning, scheduling, and maintenance concepts
  • Strong project management skills and experience; major capital project planning and execution experience required
  • Significant experience in establishing, tracking, and maintaining budgetary requirements

In this position, you will be responsible for providing process engineering and technical support for the AMG V Melt Shop (Electric Arc Furnaces) and Roaster operations. Initially, your focus will be on the final configuration of our new Zanesville Plant Melt Shop and Roaster prior to start-up and technical support of systems, processes, and operations during commissioning, start-up, and post start-up operations.

Responsibilities and Duties
