Summary
AMG Vanadium (AMG V) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Engineer to join our team in Cambridge, Ohio. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing, with expertise in mechanical system design, maintenance, and process optimization.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Lead by example and comply with all AMG V safety and environmental requirements and Company policies and procedures, including AMG’s Code of Business Conduct.

- Design, install, maintain, and optimize plant facilities, mechanical and electrical equipment, and systems to improve business performance.
- Continuously monitor, evaluate, and enhance processes and systems for efficiency and reliability.
- Provide technical support to maintenance and operations teams, including troubleshooting and preventive maintenance strategies.
- Leading the planning, execution, and delivery of engineering projects, ensuring they meet quality, time, and budget constraints.
- Coordinating cross-functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain, to ensure project milestones are met.
- Preparing, coordinating, and monitoring a project from initial conception to schedule and final completion.
- Managing large-scale engineering projects, including supervising teams, handling budgeting and scheduling, and dealing with multiple stakeholders.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (PE, MS, or MBA a plus).
- 5–10 years of facility engineering and project management experience.
- Manufacturing experience required (metallurgical, steel, chemical, or petrochemical industry experience is a plus).
- Experience working in a unionized environment is beneficial.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and facilitation skills.
- Excellent data analysis and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in CAD software and blueprint reading.
- Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) training is a plus.
- Strong background in capital project management.
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Ability to engage and lead teams through change.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow through on initiatives.
- A collaborative team player who can facilitate and negotiate optimal business outcomes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Project, and other relevant tools).
- Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, OSHA, and EPA regulations is a plus.
- Flexible work hours required, including engineering on-call duties and occasional travel.
