Summary

AMG Vanadium (AMG V) is seeking a Controls Engineer to join our growing organization. In this position, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining all facets of the Company’s industrial control systems (ICS) at our new Zanesville plant, and our Cambridge plant, both located in southeastern Ohio.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Comply with all AMG V safety and environmental policies and procedures as well as the AMG Code of Business Conduct
  • Design, implement, and maintain ICS for manufacturing processes, ensuring optimum productivity and quality.
  • Secure plant ICS from cyber attacks
  • Develop and program automation systems, including HMI and PLCs, to improve efficiency and effectiveness of manufacturing
  • Recommend, plan and implement facility and equipment installation and improvements to achieve optimum plant performance and reliability while minimizing power costs
  • Document all changes to software and hardware including creating and revising schematics
  • Inspect installations and observe operations to ensure compliance with design and equipment specifications and safety standards
  • Support construction team and maintenance department through technical consultation and troubleshooting/problem solving
  • Manage capital projects as required
  • Serve as liaison with suppliers, consultants and insurance representatives
  • Serve a project manager for all ICS contractor projects
  • Ensure compliance with Company policies and procedures as well as OSHA safety standards

Qualifications/Skills/Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in computer science, electrical, electronic, or computer engineering required, MS or MBA a plus
  • 7-10 years’ manufacturing experience required;
  • Installation/set-up experience required
  • PLC/ HMI programming experience with Allen Bradley ControlLogix, Studio 5000 and Inductive Automation Ignition required
  • Metallurgical, chemical or petrochemical plant industry experience a plus
  • Equipment testing/troubleshooting experience required
  • Instrumentation experience required
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal and facilitation skills required
  • Data analysis skills a must
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills a must
  • CAD experience required
  • Ability to analyze, evaluate, design, and optimize equipment, integrate systems, improve safety and increase capacity output
  • Experience in development and implementation of process improvements that increase plant safety, reliability, productivity, capacity, quality, and efficiency
  • Management of ICS contractor projects required
  • Knowledge of ISO systems, NEC, NFPA, OSHA and EPA regulations
