AMG Vanadium recently made a $500 donation to the Guernsey County Board of Developmental Disabilities (GCBDD). GCBDD’s facility is located on Southgate Road, adjacent to AMG Vanadium. The two entities have appreciated and valued each other’s respective role in the community. Colleen Heacock, AMG Vanadium Vice President of Sourcing and Corporate Affairs, states, “We have tremendous respect for the work that GCBDD does in our region to enrich the quality of life for people with developmental disabilities. They are a terrific neighbor and we are delighted to provide them with financial support to assist with their programming.”
Kellie Brown, Superintendent of the Guernsey County Board for Developmental Disabilities, has elected to allocate this donation to support the construction of a Bocce Court at Cambridge City Park. Kellie commented, “Bocce is a sport that focuses on the individuality of each athlete; it encourages growth in skills and accomplishments that the Board wants to share with the community. As more individuals with developmental disabilities are included in their communities, we find that their whole life becomes altered. Sometimes making friends beyond our staff is difficult. Providing a space at the City Park encourages a natural environment to interact and make connections with others. We would like to thank AMG Vanadium for being a community partner.”
