Zanesville Plant Maintenance Manager


AMG Vanadium LLC (AMG V) is seeking a Maintenance Manager to join our growing team at our expansion plant in Zanesville, Ohio. This position will direct, plan, control and monitor the overall operation of the maintenance department and has accountability for ensuring that the plant facilities, operational/production equipment, and facility infrastructure are maintained and operated in an efficient, safe and reliable manner. The Maintenance Manager establishes department goals, provides direction, guidance, and development opportunities for all maintenance employees, and ensures that production employees are trained on basic preventive maintenance. This position partners with Operations leadership to ensure safe, predictable manufacturing processes and enable reliability in achieving operational excellence.


    • Lead by example in complying with all internal and external safety and environmental regulations, policies,
      procedures, and systems; promote a culture of safety, environmental responsibility, and employee engagement
    • Foster a positive, respectful work environment and management philosophy that is aligned with the values and
      principles outlined in the AMG Code of Business Conduct; set expectation for compliance with the Code and other
      AMG V policies and procedures
    • Plan, coordinate, and supervise the maintenance and repair of plant facilities, equipment, and facility infrastructure to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the facility, including the planned preventive maintenance program
    • Work with Operations to maximize equipment uptime, minimize plant disruptions and support production goals
    • Work with Safety and Environmental Management to ensure that the highest standards of safety and
      environmental safeguards are developed and maintained; ensure grounds, buildings, equipment, machines,
      processes, service and repairs are following all relevant OSHA and EPA regulations, industry codes and or standards;
      ensure all required tests, evaluations, and assessments are performed on schedule; immediately address any issues
      or deficiencies discovered in this process
    • Work closely with Plant Engineering on capital projects; coordinate and manage needed support from outside
      contractors and equipment manufacturers
    • Lead, develop and mentor team members; ensure required Company training is current
    • Instill a mindset of continuous improvement and problem solving in your team
    • Utilize lean principles to optimize processes, systems, people and equipment
    • Champion AMG Way in all aspects of day to day, direct report and cross functional relationships


    • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Industrial related field of study, previous experience in Maintenance
      Supervisory role required
    • Minimum 7-10 years experience in manufacturing environment required; melt shop/foundry experience a plus
    • Strong mechanical aptitude required; logical reasoning, and problem-solving skills a must
    • Verifiable history of developing/sustaining a Planned Preventive Maintenance System
    • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Principles required; demonstrated ability to lead and drive continuous
      improvement efforts
    • Possess a thorough understanding of relevant industry codes, OSHA and EPA regulations
    • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills (written and verbal)
    • Team player with demonstrated ability to coach and mentor employees
    • Ability to adapt easily to change and lead others through it
    • Excellent attention to detail, time management, organization and follow through skills
    • Ability to work flexible hours as required
