Roaster Process Engineer

Summary

AMG Vanadium (AMG V) is seeking a Roaster Process Engineer to join our growing team at our new expansion plant in Zanesville, Ohio. In this position, you will provide support with the final design and configuration of AMG V’s Roaster prior to start-up and be responsible for the technical support of the Roaster systems, processes and operation during commissioning, start-up and post start-up operations. 

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide support with final design concepts, configurations and installation of Roaster equipment and processes prior to start-up
  • Provide technical support during commissioning and start-up
  • Design processes to optimize equipment and the manufacturing system
  • After start-up, develop, assess and implement process improvements that increase equipment reliability, productivity, capacity, throughput, quality and efficiency while reducing cost
  • Optimize Roaster production
  • Data collection, measurements and analysis; develop and maintain reports to track and monitor key data
  • Support capital improvement projects
  • Risk analysis of equipment, processes, and systems
  • Serve as Operations department back-up supervisor when needed
  • Comply with all internal and external safety and environmental regulations and policies; exhibit leadership in this area with other employees
  • Ensure compliance with all AMG V policies and procedures, including AMG’s Code of Business Conduct

Qualifications/Skills/Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in chemical, mechanical or metallurgical engineering required; MS or MBA a plus
  • 3-5 years of experience required; heavy manufacturing experience a plus
  • Strong process/technical skills
  • Excellent critical and logical thinking skills; problem-solving skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Calm under pressure
  • Previous supervisory experience a plus, but not required
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and facilitation skills
  • Desire to learn and grow with the Company
  • Excellent command of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Project
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 a plus
