Human Resources Manager

AMG Vanadium (AMG V) is seeking a Human Resources Manager with broad knowledge and experience in the full suite of human resources functions to join our growing organization. In this position, you will be responsible for all aspects of human resources at our new expansion plant which will be built in Muskingum County, Ohio. Initially, there will be an intense focus on talent acquisition/recruiting, development of the training and onboarding systems, and policy/procedure development. 

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state and local labor and employment laws; serve as liaison with inside and outside legal counsel as needed
  • Supports operating unit by developing and executing employee/labor relations initiatives; coach and counsel management and production employees
  • Assist in development of talent acquisition/recruiting strategy and execute hiring plan for management and production team
  • Benchmark and assist in design of site’s compensation system
  • Develop policies and procedures for site; ensure alignment with company policies; implement and administer policies and procedures; execute and track discipline as required
  • Work in partnership with internal stakeholders to develop onboarding and training programs to meet cultural, compliance, operational, and technical requirements
  • Serve as gatekeeper of company culture at site
  • Administer salary payroll
  • Administer benefit plans
  • Assist in development and execution of leadership training program
  • Develop and administer performance management system; train and coach supervisors; execute employee discipline with internal business leaders as required
  • Plan and coordinate employee and special events
  • Measure and evaluate employee morale and satisfaction; develop plans and methods to address issues of concern expressed by employees
  • Participate in development and maintenance of HR objectives, systems, data collection and analysis, KPIs, and reports
  • Responsible for confidential records and documentation


  • Bachelor’s degree in human resource management or related field required
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in human resources
  • Experience with multi-faceted talent acquisition/recruiting strategies, including social media platforms
  • Comprehensive understanding of federal, state and local labor and employment laws
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Exceptional interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to handle data with confidentiality
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to multitask
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail
