Environmental Manager


AMG Vanadium (AMG V) is seeking an Environmental Manager with prior management experience in this field to oversee the day-to-day activities, implementation and administration of environmental programs at our manufacturing site in Cambridge, Ohio.  

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Assist with the ongoing environmental plan development and make recommendations for improvement of existing strategies. Lead the execution of the site’s environmental programs. Develop and enforce site environmental policies and procedures. Oversee activities of team members to maintain environmental management system.
  • Provide dotted line oversight and guidance to EHS Manager at AMG V’s nearby sister facility
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state and local Environmental Permit requirements and company standards
  • Conduct regular environmental audits and inspections
  • Responsible for environmental communication and reporting; ensure compliance and timely submission of federal, state and local reporting requirements
  • Interact with regulatory agencies as required to maintain compliance with all applicable standards
  • ISO 45001 program administration and maintenance
  • Responsible for leadership and oversight of environmental compliance training
  • Ensure and support the timely completion of environmental incident investigations, driving to root cause and corrective action implementation
  • Oversee pollution control programs and develop waste treatment and recycling procedures
  • Perform environmental research as required and prepare research reports for management
  • Develop budget and timelines for environmental operations and develop cost reduction initiatives while still maintaining quality
  • Lead sustainability initiatives, opportunities and requirements for the site
  • Interact with environmental legal counsel and corporate environmental leadership as required
  • Establish emergency response system and protocol; train and execute drills/exercises on responsible management of emergency situations
  • Stay current with environmental trends and legislations
  • Promote and enforce safe work practices at the site and assist in developing a culture of safety with employee engagement as a core pillar


  • BS degree in environmental, civil or chemical engineering preferred; chemistry, physics or similar technical degree may be acceptable
  • 10 years of environmental management experience in industrial setting
  • RCRA, and/or Title V Air Permit experience; preferably for a Large Quantity Generator
  • Knowledge of OSHA Safety Standards, ANSI, NEC, NFPA
  • ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 experience; knowledge and understanding of new ISO 45001 standard
  • Knowledge of applicable state, federal and international environmental laws, ordinances, statutes, and regulations
  • Skilled in handling and prioritizing multiple projects; preparing and· maintaining accurate records, reports and files
  • Ability to understand technical processes
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and facilitation skills

  • Strong leadership skills; ability to hold supervisors and production employees accountable for environmental compliance
