Environmental, Health and Safety Manager

Summary

AMG Vanadium (AMG V) is seeking an Environmental, Health and Safety Manager (EHS) with prior management experience in this field to oversee the day-to-day activities, implementation and administration of environmental, health and safety programs at a greenfield manufacturing site. 

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations (OSHA, NFPA, etc.), Environmental Permit Requirements, and company standards
  • Develop and enforce site environmental and safety policies and procedures
  • Promote and enforce safe work practices at the site and develop a culture of safety with employee engagement as a core pillar
  • Conduct regular environmental and safety audits and inspections
  • Responsible for environmental and safety communication and reporting
  • Interact with regulatory agencies as required to maintain compliance with all applicable standards
  • ISO 45001 program administration and maintenance
  • Responsible for leadership and oversight of compliance training
  • Ensure and support the timely completion of safety and environmental incident investigations, driving to root cause and corrective action implementation
  • Lead and provide oversight of employee health initiatives and programs
  • Manage and administer Workers’ Compensation Program
  • Manage contractor safety program and training
  • Lead site Safety Council
  • Establish emergency response system and protocol; train and execute drills/exercises on responsible management of emergency situations
  • Serve as site Radiation Safety Officer

Qualifications/Skills/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental, occupational health and safety, or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in environmental, health and safety management in industrial setting
  • Knowledge of OSHA Safety Standards, ANSI, NEC, NFPA
  • RCRA, and/or Title V Air Permit experience; preferably for a Large Quantity Generator
  • ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 experience; knowledge and understanding of new ISO 45001 standard
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and facilitation skills
