Electrical Engineer

Summary

AMG Vanadium (AMG V) is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our growing organization. In this position, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining all facets of the Company’s electrical system at our new expansion plant, which will be located just east of Zanesville, Ohio.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Comply with all AMG V safety and environmental policies and procedures as well as the AMG Code of Business Conduct.
  • Analyze and evaluate electrical systems, products, components, and applications by designing and conducting research, applying knowledge of electricity and materials, and evaluating system and component capabilities; design testing methods
  • Recommend, plan and implement facility and equipment installation and improvements to achieve optimum plant performance and reliability while minimizing power costs
  • Inspect installations and observe operations to ensure compliance with design and equipment specifications and safety standards
  • Support construction team and maintenance department through technical consultation and troubleshooting/problem solving
  • Manage capital projects as required
  • Serve as liaison with contractors, suppliers, consultants and insurance representatives
  • Ensure compliance with Company policies and procedures as well as OSHA safety standards

Qualifications/Skills/Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering required, MS or MBA a plus
  • 7-10 years’ manufacturing experience required; energy sector preferred
  • Metallurgical, steel, chemical or petrochemical plant industry experience a plus
  • Equipment testing/troubleshooting experience required
  • Installation/set-up experience required
  • Instrumentation (PLC) experience required
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal and facilitation skills required
  • Data analysis skills a must
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills a must
  • CAD and blueprint experience required
  • Ability to analyze, evaluate, design, and optimize equipment, integrate systems, and increase capacity output
  • Experience in development and implementation of process improvements that increase plant reliability, productivity, capacity, quality, and efficiency
  • Capital project management experience a must
  • Knowledge of ISO systems and OSHA and EPA regulations
