AMG Vanadium, LLC, a leading US producer of ferrovanadium, is currently taking applications to fill the following position:


Melt Shop Supervisor

We are seeking a Melt Shop Supervisor to join our team! You will oversee the activities of a team of production workers.

  • Adhere to all safety and environmental policies and procedures
  • Primary responsibility will be direct supervision of melt shop crew
  • Meet and/or exceed production goals
  • Instructs employees in operational procedures, safe working practices
  • Conducts safety training/meetings and incident/accident investigation when necessary
  • Maintain all required production data, including daily shift activity log
  • Make furnace mix changes detailed by Quality Manager, or his designee, to produce on grade products
  • Monitors equipment performance, work as team with Maintenance Department to enact minor repairs and report any malfunctions so that proper repairs can be made
  • Monitors and recommends changes in procedures and equipment which will provide more effective and efficient operations


  • Previous experience in smelting production, manufacturing, or other related fields
  • Strong leadership qualities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High School diploma required
  • Associate or Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Union plant experience preferred
  • Previous supervision experience preferred
  • Able to work 12 hour swing/rotating shift required; weekend duty coverage required
  • Ability to engage people and lead through change
